Make checks payable to “EAA Chapter 1489”. [There are also memberships for Associate (not an EAA member, not allowed to vote, $12 annual dues), and for Youth (associate member under 18, $5 annual dues).]

Old business:

  • The Scholarship Committee has finalized its Scholarship Application Form and it is posted on the website (FlyingFOOLZ.org).
  • The committee has received three scholarship applications. The committee will meet to determine recommendations for scholarship distribution. (The Board of Directors will then need to approve them.)
  • Rusty Swartzfager is now officially a licensed pilot and is eager to be at Sun ‘n Fun (April 4-9, 2017). (Please contact Barb Flynn if you are interested in volunteering at SNF). Rusty has also been working on Charlie’s old Hyperlite.

New Business/Announcements

  • Pat Connell (and Dan Reynolds) want folks to know that AOPA (www.aopa.org) also offers scholarships. The Ninety-Nines also offer the Amelia Earheart Memorial scholarships which they prefer to use to encourage women pilots (www.ninety-nines.org.)
  • The Connells will have a Fly-in Preparation Work Party on Friday March 24th at 5pm. Workers may arrive on Saturday at 8:00am or earlier.

Preparations include: checking the runway for holes, tires to mark the runway, getting the FART cart to Wahoo airport.

Pat has invited a vendor who can put a picture of your plane on a t-shirt, so bring your favorite photos. She has also invited the artist who made the metal wall hangings.

Neal Harris’ Memorial will be at Gator Field 3-6pm March 25th. Contact April Mackin (321-229-0458, thatmackin@gmail.com) for more information.

Meeting adjourned 8:07 pm.
