Flying FOOLZ Meeting Minutes
July 14, 2015 Coyote Rojo
Attendees: Bill & Karen Sharpe, Karen (Peaches) Jones, Dan Reynolds, Jim & Pat Connell, Jan Tukeva & Gary Emrick, Steve Bensinger & Sue Vartanian
Meeting called to order 7:54pm.
Membership approved the previous minutes with modifications to specify the wording changes to by-laws. (Please see updated June 9th Minutes.)
Treasurer Report – The club bank account currently has $5026.45.
New Business:
New chairs – Question raised about getting new chairs to replace the old, blue, donated chairs that we have used for the past several years of fly-ins. We will need 50-60 new all-weather folding chairs when there is a good sale ($10-$15 per chair). Bill & Karen volunteered to watch the Sam's Club site. It was suggested that we donate the blue chairs to Pastor Phil at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church or another needy group.
Young Eagles – The club's Young Eagles event September 26th will be now hosted by the Flynns (not the Connells). Peaches asked for volunteers to help with the kids and lunch.
Gary asked if he could use his Sport Plane Trike for Young Eagles. The question was whether he has sufficient insurance coverage.
Scholarship application – Since the last meeting, Barb Flynn researched scholarships from the EAA and other clubs which she listed in an e-mail. Peaches, Sue, and Barb will put it together so that our application can be presented at the next club meeting.
Meeting adjourned 8:15 pm.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11th 7pm at Beef O'Brady's.
