Attendees: Pat Connell, Karen (Peaches) Jones, Steve & Barb Flynn, Vic Chewning, Bill & Karen Sharpe, Curt Morehouse & Deb Beach, Tom Steinmetz, Dan Reynolds, Gary Emrick, and Steve Bensinger & Sue Vartanian

Meeting called to order 7:15pm.

Last month’s meeting minutes were accepted as written.

Treasurer Report  Vic Chewning

The Chapter spent $1,000.00 for a scholarship (Rusty Swartzfager), and $353.75 in expenses for the conversion to a 501(c)(3) organization, resulting in a bank balance of $3,428.28.

Old business:

  • The club now has 501(c)(3) status with the IRS.
  • Motion made and passed to approve dissolution of the old corporation and to move funds into the new account.
  • The club also agreed to renew membership with the EAA at our present $1 million level of insurance coverage.
  • Motion made and passed to donate $10 to the national EAA Chapter Development fund.
  • The Scholarship Committee now consists of Barbara Flynn, Dan Reynolds, Jim Connell, Deb Beach, and Pat Connell. Deb agreed to be chairwoman.
  • Pat Connell communicated with Vince Ruano that the club is now 501(c)(3). He would still like to transition funds from the Ryan Ruano Foundation before the end of the calendar year. He is putting no limitations on how we can spend his donation. We could acknowledge his gift at the January Fly-in.
  • Steve B acknowledged that the club website needs updates to bylaws, minutes, etc.
  • Pat has reserved the meeting rooms at Beef O’Brady’s and at Coyote Rojo for as far as possible into 2017.
  • Barb Flynn reported that no one else in the neighborhood is willing to have the club holiday party on December 18th. After some discussion the membership agreed to move the holiday party to New Year’s Eve. It will be hosted by the Flynns; other members are invited to bring food items and BYOB. Guests are also invited to wear pajamas so that we can stagger home to bed right after midnight.
  • January 28th Fly-In – It seems most everyone is willing to work their same stations. Steve Flynn is Volunteer Coordinator. Please notify him if you would like a different assignment.
  • Future FOOLZ Fly-ins – The membership agreed to host another breakfast fly-in on March 25th 8:30-10:30am.

New Business

  • Question raised about CFIs in the area. Curt can be CFI, but student will be Pilot in Command, so make sure that your plane is not out of bi-annual.

Meeting adjourned 8:01pm.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10th 7pm at Coyote Rojo.

Future Fly-Ins (from FlyingFOOLZ.org website with calendar):
