Flying FOOLZ Meeting Minutes
September 8, 2015 Coyote Rojo
Attendees: Jim & Pat Connell, Steve & Barb Flynn, Karen (Peaches) Jones, Dan Reynolds, Steve Bensinger & Sue Vartanian
Meeting called to order 7:39pm.
Treasurer Report – The club bank account currently has $4639.83 after purchasing 40 folding chairs.
New chairs – Steve B went to Walmart and purchased 40 black metal folding chairs at approximately $10 each. The old chairs have been donated to The Refuge in Bushnell.
Scholarship application – We need a committee to review the applications and to choose the scholar(s). (The application has been posted on the FlyingFOOLZ.org website. Click link to FOOLZ Newz.)
Young Eagles event September 26th at the Flynns – Pat and Peaches reviewed the list volunteers to help with the kids and lunch. They estimated 25 kids might attend. Peaches is trying to get as much information on the attendees ahead of time. Plans are to set up Friday night. The event starts at 8:30 Saturday morning. (See the FlyingFOOLZ.org website.)
Nominating Committee for Club Officers – According to our by-laws, we need to have a nominating committee of 3 members in September. The membership agreed that the nominating committee will include:
- Karen (Peaches) Jones
- Dan Reynolds
- Jim Connell
This committee will canvass the membership and present the list of nominees at the next meeting October 13th. Others may be nominated at the next meeting.
Elections are held in November. Each officer is elected for a 2-year term. All club officers and 3 directors are up for election this year.

Bank account – Noted that the FOOLZ bank account is still not set up so that there are 3 signatories. It is still a personal checking account.
Florida Cub Flyers Meeting – Pat informed us that she and Jim have invited the Florida Cub Flyers to hold their December 5th closed meeting at Wahoo. The Cub club asks the hosts to provide lunch and pays $15 per person. A motion was made and passed that the FOOLZ help serve lunch and that all proceeds go to the FOOLZ club.
Meeting adjourned 8:29 pm.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13th 7pm at Beef O'Brady's.
