FOOLZ Meeting Minutes 11/12/19 The meeting was called to order at 7:19 PM
Those members present: Steve Flynn, Barbara Flynn, Jim Connell, Pat Connell, Karen Sharpe, Bill Sharpe, Russell (Rusty) Swartzfager, Bryan DeHaven, Dudley Cullum, Vic Chewning, Debbie Beach, Curt Morehouse.
- New member and visitor introductions – There were no new members or visitors present at the meeting. Bryan DeHaven joined the chapter shortly before we ceased meetings during the summer so we were reacquainted with Bryan’s background etc.
- Minutes from the September meeting – The meeting in September was held with the specific purpose of putting together a nominating committee. The minutes of that meeting were made available through e-mail to the chapter membership. The minutes of that meeting were approved as submitted.
- Treasurer Report – See attached. Motion was made by Barbara Flynn and seconded by Steve Flynn to move the remaining funds in the scholarship account to the general fund. Motion passed.

All scholarships have been completed and have been paid as agreed. Currently there are no future plans for scholarships so there is no scholarship committee.
5. New Business
Christmas Party at Cotillion, December 12th, 6 pm.
Discussion – Pat Connell has made a reservation for 25 people at Cotillion on the date and time above. It was discussed and agreed that the chapter would not provide financial reimbursement for the event and that all attending would pay for their own meal. Additional friends and family are also welcome to attend. Those expecting to attend, please let Barbara Flynn know so that we can increase or decrease the amount of participants in our reservation.
Nominating committee presents ballot for 2020-21 officers.
- Appoint 3 Chapter Members (not running for office) to conduct and monitor the election. The 3 chapter members who will conduct and
monitor the election are Deb Beach, Curt Morehouse and Karen Sharpe.
Ballot and procedure was provided by Barbara Flynn (acting secretary) to
all voting members present. Ballot and procedure was approved.
- Attending current members vote by written ballot. (Vic will provide list of paid members eligible to vote.) Absentee voting - The bylaws and Florida state law require voting by written ballot. Online voting is not permitted.
- All ballots will be returned to Deb Beach no later than 5 PM on Sunday, November 17 in a sealed envelope with the member’s current paid EAA membership number on the outside front of the envelope.
- Paper ballot will be sent to any full members who did not receive a ballot on November 12, 2019. Only one eligible voting member was not in attendance at the meeting. Barbara Flynn will make sure that the member receives a ballot to return to Deb Beach no later than 5 PM on Sunday, November 17.
- The election monitors will meet at Deb Beach’s home after 5 PM on Sunday, November 17 for the purpose of opening and counting the votes. The procedure will be: after validating the EAA membership number is on the front of the envelope and the number corresponds to an eligible voting member, the envelope will be opened, the ballot inside removed, and then the envelope will be destroyed. After removing all ballots, the monitor’s will individually count the votes and verify that the count is correct. Deb Beach will certify that the voting results are correct and will forward the results to the board of directors which include: Stephanie Bensinger, Pat Connell, Vic Chewning, Bill Sharpe, Steve Flynn, and Barbara Flynn.
- FOOLZ Fly-in Schedule - January 25, 2020. Discussed, motion (Barbara Flynn) and motion carried. Hours 8:30 – 10:30 AM. Cost will be $7.00 per plate. Pat Connell will take the money, provide name badges, and sell 50/50 tickets. Steve Flynn will make the remainder of the work assignments.
