FOOLZ & FSAACA Team Up for Two-Day Fly-in

On May 18th and 19th, the Flying FOOLZ and the Florida Sport Aircraft Antique and Classic Association (FSAACA) will be co-hosting a two day fly-in at Connell’s Wahoo in Bushnell (25FL).

Overnight camping on Friday night, with restrooms, showers, and power hookups available. Dinner Friday night at 5:30.

Breakfast Saturday morning from 8:00 to 10:30, then lunch from 12:00 to 2:00.

Third Annual Halloween Breakfast Fly-in

October Meeting Date and Time Change

Since many members will be flying out to the Thomasville, GA fly-in on the weekend when our normal meeting would be, our “October” meeting will be immediately following our September fly-in: 11am on September 24th at Steve and Barbara Flynn’s house. There will be no other meeting in October, other than our Halloween fly-in on the 29th.

After Irene threatened to attend our August Fly-in, we postponed it until September - so here it is! Florida Cub Flyers Fly-in

On Saturday, February 20th, the Flying FOOLZ hosted a lunch fly-in for the Florida Cub Flyers. Seventeen or eighteen Piper Cubs and Cub variants flew in, and we all devoured a yummy BBQ lunch from Sonny’s. Everyone enjoyed having the Cubs here, and nobody went home hungry.

New Windsock

At our last meeting we voted to donate a new windsock to Flying W. The windsock cage was way past TBO, so Gary Emrick did some maintenance on it, greasing the bearings and sandblasting and repainting it. Steve Bensinger spent some time doing his best to color inside the lines with Sharpies, adding “EAA Chapter 1489” and “flyingfoolz.org” to both sides of the new windsock. On February 2nd, Steve B. and Pete Nunez raised the new windsock on Flying W’s mast. It now flies proudly, proclaiming that the FOOLZ fly here!
